Privacy for Big Data
SCOPE
In the big data era, personal data is commercially collected and traded in the new economy. The growth of big data analytics brings considerable benefits, which recently arouses the widespread concern on privacy issues. Big data purports that data is a resource which is able to be used and reused. In that case, the collected data has various sources and forms. Therefore, traditional privacy-preserving solutions are insufficient for big data era. The battle for privacy has already begun. The 2nd International Workshop on Privacy for Big Data (PBD 2017) brings together privacy experts from both the academia and industry all over the world to discuss state-of-the-art privacy technologies and new perspectives. PBD encourages novel practical and/or theoretical research including design, analysis, experimentation, or fielding of privacy-enhancing technologies for Big Data. Besides typical research areas such as anonymity systems and privacy-oriented cryptography, we strongly encourage submissions on a number of both well-established and emerging privacy-related topics for the Internet, some other digital systems and communication networks.
WORKSHOP AREAS
Suggested topics include but are not restricted to:
1.Privacy-enhanced access control, authentication and identity management
2.Measuring and quantifying privacy for big data
3.Game-theoretical approaches for big data privacy
4.Differential privacy and big data
5.Privacy-preserving data mining
6.Privacy in ubiquitous computing and mobile devices
7.Privacy in cloud and social network applications
8.Cryptographic tools for big data privacy
PAPER SUBMISSION
Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. The papers should be in PDF format and submitted via the IEEE DSC site (http://www.ieee-dsc.org/2017/CallForPapers.html). All accepted papers will appear in the proceedings of the IEEE DSC2017 conference. If accepted, at least one of the authors must attend the workshop to present the work.
